Welcome Gina To Our Office!
May 1, 2013
My name is Gina Staffiery and I have had the honor to be hired into the Rozenhart Family Chiropractic family. S
o, what is my story? After graduating from San Jose State with a BA in Advertising and Marketing, I began my career life in the family travel business. After thirteen years managing the business, I finally decided to jump out of the family nest and became the Director of Marketing for an adventure/travel company, from there I went on to be the Director of Sales for Australia’s leading tour operator.
I went back to school and earned my MBA. It was about this time I decided to follow my passion and became a professional photographer. Photography was always a love and as they say if you love what you do, you never go to work. I photograph everything, people, events, weddings, families and more. I was very lucky and got a wonderful contract as a newborn baby photographer, which came to an end last year. This is when I found Rozenhart Family Chiropractic. I have always believed and participated in Chiropractic care and I love working with people, so I felt it was a good fit and here I am. I love it here and plan on being here for a very long time.
As for the colorful part of me: My favorite color is color, I love them all! I love to travel. I have had the great opportunity to travel all around the world. My favorite places, so far are Africa, New Zealand, Fiji, Italy and Australia. My favorite cities are Boston, London, and Venice. I have yet to go to the Galapagos Islands or Brazil, but will get there soon. I believe in love. I have a warm heart and am very welcoming. I am trustworthy and funny (at least this is what my husband tells me.) I am very partial to Asian food and can never go to an Italian restaurant. None, with the exception to some in Italy, compare to mom and nanas cooking. I love to cook, paint and crochet. The beach or the mountains are my drug of choice. I love to hike, mountain bike and troll the beach for sea shells. There is so much more to me and I guess you will just have to come in for an adjustment to learn more.
I am so happy to be part of this wonderful family! I look forward to meeting you!!!
Chiropractors & Allergies – How and Why?
April 3, 2013
When you hear about people visiting their chiropractors, it is easy to assume that they are seeking care to relieve back pain. However, chiropractic care can relieve many more conditions. Ailments from ADHD to hypertension can be impacted by regular adjustments, and seasonal allergies are no exception.
Allergies can affect us all in very different ways, and while chiropractors cannot cure the condition, regular adjustments can make all the difference by boosting the functionality of our immune systems and reducing symptoms.
How?
Chiropractors are trained to recognize the presence of subluxations. Subluxations of the spine are indicators of stress within the nervous system. By fixing the stressors within the spine, we are changing the effectiveness of our nervous system’s ability to communicate with the rest of the body, thus limiting or decreasing the ways in which our bodies respond to the allergies.
Why?
When we react to allergies, our first thought is to find medication for symptom relief, but with all of the harsh chemicals and additives, these pills could be bringing harmful substances into our bodies. Chiropractors can provide an all-natural method of symptom relief that is safe and acceptable for patients of all ages.
Here at Rozenhart Family Chiropractic we embrace the opportunity to help our patients feel better in the most natural way possible. If you or anyone you know is suffering from allergies and wants a safe and all-natural alternative, we encourage you to contact us today!
Chiropractic & Seizures – Can It Help?
March 20, 2013
As we have been discussing over the last few months, chiropractic adjustments can have a positive impact on individuals suffering from various conditions ranging from diabetes and high blood pressure to strokes. Epilepsy is no exception. While it cannot be treated with chiropractic adjustments, a vast improvement can be achieved and a high level of manageability can be obtained.
As YourSpine.com explains, “Epilepsy is a seizure disorder marked by problems in the normal functioning of the brain. These problems can produce seizures, unusual body movements, loss of consciousness or changes in consciousness, as well as mental problems or problems with the senses. A seizure is the outward sign of a malfunction in the electrical system in the brain. Seizures that occur more than once, without a special cause, are called epilepsy. Seizures may be convulsions, brief stares, muscle spasms, odd sensations, or episodes of automatic behavior and altered consciousness.”
Epilepsy is a condition that clearly coincides with an individual’s neurological system and spinal health, which is where chiropractic care comes into play. Chiropractors gently manipulate spinal discrepancies also known as subluxations with regular adjustments. These subluxations are misalignments of the spine that can lead to an error in neurological communications and functionality. Chiropractic adjustments allow for the correction of subluxations that could be putting pressure on nerves within the spine and affecting the way each nerve communicates and responds with areas of the body. With regular chiropractic adjustments, patients are ensuring that their spines are free of compromising subluxations and are functioning without interference.
Many cases of epilepsy have shown that general chiropractic care and regular chiropractic adjustments not only improve the frequency of epileptic episodes (seizures) but also have the potential to remove the need for harsh chemical-based medications by eliminating subluxations.

Chiropractic Care & Strokes
February 27, 2013
Did you know that strokes are one of the leading causes of death among Americans? According to the Center for Disease Control, there are more than 700,000 people who suffer from a stroke each year. Among those 700,000, nearly 200,000 do not recover and the symptoms become fatal.
According to the National Stroke Association, strokes occur when a blood clot is blocking an artery or a blood vessel bursts interrupting blood flow to certain areas of the brain. When a stroke occurs, cells within the brain will begin to die and damage to the brain will occur. As with any neurological attack, the long-standing effects can be great. When brain cells die or become weakened the functions controlled by that portion of the brain also become diminished or completely eliminated. Common symptoms of strokes include loss of motor functions or partial paralysis to one part or one side of the body. Strokes are more commonly seen in individuals over the age of 65 but can happen at any age.
Over the past few decades, there have been controversies as to whether or not chiropractic care is safe for individuals that are at risk of strokes. Today we want to let you know that chiropractic care is not only safe but can be beneficial and valuable at any age. This misconception about chiropractic care comes from an idea that vertebral artery dissection caused strokes could have been a result of cervical adjustments of the neck.
This misconception is just that, a misconception. As chiropractors, we pay close attention to our patients, their behaviors, their symptoms and their medical histories including a history of drugs and medication, any physical traumas, possible diseases within the connective tissue and general activity within the nervous, cardiovascular and urinary systems. By paying close attention to these, we can evaluate sudden onsets and can determine the healthiest and safest method of treatment.
We do not claim to be a treatment or prevention method for strokes; we do, however, provide a safe and beneficial chiropractic care experience. Here at Rozenhart Family Chiropractic, we evaluate the needs of each client individually to ensure that the most positive experience is had by all. If you have any other questions concerning chiropractic care and conditions like strokes, we encourage you to contact us today. We are happy to help you understand chiropractic care and how to positively impact your life in the future.

Chiropractic Care and the Immune System
Your nervous system is a critical part to your immune system. The nervous system is what controls and communicates with your body, by sending and receiving messages, and controlling your thoughts and movements.
Your spinal cord is a key connection to your nervous system. Chiropractic care benefits your immune system with treatment that keeps your spine and nervous system on the right track. Chiropractors are also able to provide manual manipulation of the spine and individual vertebrae, as well as help improve back pain, neck pain, car accident injuries, headaches and migraines.
Abnormal changes in the body can lead to a poor immune system. Your immune system is what helps you fight off infections, cancer, the flu, and other common illnesses. Antibiotics have been the solution for most of the illness that can take a toll on the immune system; however they’re not always the best solution for every case.
There are many ways you can strengthen your immune system, and some of them work better than others. A healthy diet can always improve your overall health, along with daily exercise. Vitamin D and C, and sleep help maintain the immune system substantially. Vitamin C and D are important to help you fight off diseases. Chiropractic treatment is also known to be beneficial for your immune system and overall health.
Chiropractic adjustments relieve stress from the nerve system, and many chiropractors recommend regular chiropractic care for everyone because of its benefits. Nowadays, a lot of insurances are starting to cover chiropractic care, so it isn’t an out of pocket expense.
Your spine has spinal lesions that are associated with the spine activity. If your spinal lesions are misaligned, your immune system’s regulatory cells that are released into the blood circulation are altered. White blood cells, the cells that destroy the bad cells, have been shown to be enhanced through chiropractic care. When your spine isn’t aligned, the stress response of the nervous system sends a reaction to your brain, which can cause insulin resistance. With insulin resistance, you are more susceptible to diabetes, heart disease, obesity, depression and other illnesses.
Chiropractic care has many benefits. It can be one of the most promising benefits for the immune system. Many people see chiropractors to keep their immune system in balance and to sustain a healthy and rewarding lifestyle. Your chiropractor will be able to create a balanced chiropractic treatment plan specifically for you and what you’re looking to get out of the care.

Chiropractic Care & High Blood Pressure, Are They Connected?
February 20, 2013
Did you know that according to the Center for Disease Control, one in three Americans have high blood pressure? This condition, also known as hypertension, costs nearly $100 billion in medical costs throughout America each year. Skyrocketing costs include the costs of medical care, prescriptions and time off of work, just to name a few.
With prescription medication being such a highly favorable method of treatment among many physicians, it can be somewhat difficult to find a method of treatment for high blood pressure that does not require or involve harsh chemicals or possibly damaging pills and medications.
Chiropractic care is a natural approach that embraces the body’s ability to heal itself through the connection between the neurological system and the rest of the body. The popularity of chiropractic care as a method of treatment for high blood pressure is rapidly increasing and it has been proven that regular chiropractic care can lower blood pressure better than these harsh drug and chemical treatments.
A study by the Journal of Human Hypertension proved this idea and showed that people who received regular adjustments in the upper neck region over the course of eight weeks saw an average drop of 17 points in systolic pressure and 10 points in diastolic pressure. These results were received completely free of all chemical and medication-based treatments and show the power of consistent chiropractic care and adjustments.
You may ask how? How can chiropractic care help correct a condition that is not directly related to the spine? To put it simply, high blood pressure (or even low blood pressure) can occur when the atlas vertebrae is misaligned within the spine. This misalignment can easily affect blood flow throughout the base of the neck. When this alignment is adjusted, blood flow and blood pressure is restored to normal.
Here at Rozenhart Family Chiropractic, we believe in a more natural and less drug-invasive method of relief for many common conditions including high blood pressure. If you or anyone you know is suffering from high blood pressure/hypertension, we highly encourage you to come visit us today. We love the opportunity to help our clients feel better in their everyday lives. See you soon!

Autism – Is Chiropractic Care the Answer?
January 30, 2013
Over the last few months, we have been highlighting conditions, both chronic and otherwise, that could be treated or alleviated with chiropractic care. Today, we delve into the topic of autism and introduce how non-invasive and drug free chiropractic care can help.
What is autism?
Autism is considered to be a brain development condition that can affect social interactions and both verbal and non-verbal forms of communication. According to Autism Speaks, “Autism statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identify around 1 in 88 American children as on the autism spectrum–a ten-fold increase in prevalence in 40 years.” Additionally, diagnosis of autism is nearly 5 times higher in young boys than girls with 1 in every 54 boys being diagnosed in comparison to the 1 in 253 young girls. These statistics suggest that there are millions of Americans currently living with autism and that more children are being diagnosed annually with autism than AIDS, cancer and juvenile diabetes combined.
How can chiropractic care help?
Chiropractic care is a safe and comfortable method of treatment for many conditions and is very well suited for children. An adjustment allows chiropractors to manipulate the spine to benefit the nervous system and gives the body and mind the ability to adapt to varying environments. Autism is a neurological condition and chiropractic care encourages increased communication between the nervous system and the rest of the body triggering corrective action, thus relieving or alleviating symptoms of conditions like autism.
Here at Rozenhart Family Chiropractic, we are equipped with the tools and knowledge to take care of all kinds of people with many varied neurological challenges without invasive and harsh drug treatments that you may find elsewhere. If you are looking for a safe and comfortable alternative for relief for yourself or your child, please contact us today! ADHD – Can Chiropractic Care Help my Child?
January 23, 2013
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD is a neurological disorder that is said to affect nearly 10% of all school aged children. In many instances, doctors will subject their ADHD patients to rough and manipulative drug treatments. With their children’s best interests at heart, many parents often search for drug-free treatment alternatives which can include chiropractic care.
How can chiropractic help my child?
Chiropractic care can help children and adults with ADHD by reducing spinal and nervous system disturbances and by stimulating the under active areas of the brain. This will aid in achieving cerebral balance resulting in a calmer persona of the patient and a noticeable change in ADHD symptoms.
Why are the drugs bad?
Children with ADHD are often put on a medication regiment that includes large amounts of Class Two psychotropic drugs. These drugs can alter a child’s behavior and personality negatively, and can leave a permanent impression on their nervous system. Chiropractic care can help ensure that the only changes in your children’s behavior are positive ones.
If you or your child are suffering from ADHD and are hoping to find a drug free method for symptom relief with chiropractic care, we urge you to contact us today! We are here and ready to help you take care of yourself and your family. Come in today, we can’t wait to see you!

Asthma and Chiropractic – Can They Be Connected?
January 9, 2013
Asthma is becoming an epidemic in our country. Did you know that there are over 6,000 asthma related deaths each year? With multitudes of Americans currently diagnosed with asthma, it’s time to share some of the benefits that chiropractic care can have for someone with this chronic condition.
What is asthma?
According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, “Asthma is a disease of the lungs in which the airways become blocked or narrowed causing breathing difficulty. This chronic disease affects 20 million Americans. Asthma is commonly divided into two types: allergic (extrinsic) asthma and non-allergic (intrinsic) asthma.” Asthma is traditionally treated with inhalers, bronchodilators, steroids and allergy shots, all of which can have various adverse reactions if overused.
