Is Your Brain Aging Too Quickly??
March 2, 2009
Traveling to a seminar last weekend, I came across an article in Spirit magazine that says your brain peaks in performance at 39 years old. Past the age of 39, our myelin- the fatty tissue that surrounds a neuron- starts to deteriorate. In the journal The Neurobiology of Aging, Dr. George Bartzokis tells us to think of our brain signals as an internet connection- myelin gives us more bandwidth by making the signals go faster.
How can you decrease the effects of myelin deterioration? Omega-3 oils! Increasing your consumption of seafood also will increase your Omega-3 intake- just make sure its wild seafood. At Rozenhart Family Chiropractic we stock a great Omega-3 supplement- ask us about it .
We are here to help you age in a graceful, healthful way. Be Well!
