Why Do Athletes Participate In Chiropractic Care?
July 29, 2009
From Joe Montana to Evander Holyfield to Tiger Woods ,all are active proponents of chiropractic care.
In this video Merrill Moses, Silver Medalist in Water Polo, discusses how important chiropractic care is to athletes and why more than half of the American Olympic athletes receive chiropractic care. For people who use their bodies for a living, the relationship between structure and function is obvious. Every adjustment allows the body’s function to be more coordinated and more balanced. It also allows the body to function more efficiently. Less energy is required to perform any given action, giving you more energy overall!
That is why we hear so often when people become practice members that they have more energy and a better sense of well-being. If you are involved in sports of any kind, chiropractic care is essential. Think of your car as an analogy to your body. Let’s say your car is out of balance and needs a wheel alignment. If that care sits in your driveway, there is little damage from it existing in an unbalanced state. However, if you take that car and drive 500 miles- you will absolutely see wear and tear from the unbalanced tires. So, if your body is out of balance and you put a lot of “miles” on it- you are doing more damage to your body.
Professional athletes look for any and everything that will give them an extra edge or advantage in their sport. Give yourself that advantage too! To increase the efficiency of your work outs- call us today at 408-979-9999.
